For the first (and probably last) time in my life, I am going to quote Coldplay: "Nobody said it was easy..."
Now Chris was likely talking about a relationship (I haven't paid enough attention to the other lyrics to really know for sure), but for me, that line keeps going through my head. It's been a rough last year for your buddy Mr Bognar, and I am ready for what should be the inevitable upswing.
Eternally optimistic, I am, but sometimes it's hard to see the forest for the trees. A great wife, a wonderful son, great friends, mostly able to pay the bills on time with my job (restaurant owner)...a LOT of people have it a LOT worse than I do, but when you're stuck in a time in your life where you just can't get the traction you think your hard work deserves, it is easy to get bogged down in what's not so great.
So while it's never "easy," it's always "something," and that's usually better than nothing.
So I'm continuing with my mantra of "do something." If you haven't seen my YouTube page recently, check out the food and music content I've been creating lately. It's a lot of fun, even if recently it hasn't been profitable.
Recently I started following a Periscope feed by @KathySue17. She's a regular at my cafe, and she does a daily morning broadcast that's eternally optimistic. While she and I differ in many ways, I can't help but smile when I hear her putting out positive, affirming messages to people who may or may not want them, but sure as hell probably need them. Check her out.
...and know that it's gonna get better.
